Noumea highlights tour for morning arrivals

Blue River Park tour with Cagou bird, giant Kauri trees and swimming

Duration: 6 hours

Blue River Park is regarded as the most spectacular of New Caledonia’s nature reserves. Covering 9,000 hectares, the park is home to a big population of the flightless bird, the Cagou which is the national symbol, a drowned forest, the giant Kaori trees, and the beautiful Blue River. Fernando Tourisme takes their guests to the park and then uses the park’s shuttle bus to explore the highlights. This tour is not available on Mondays because the Park is closed. The entry fee into the park is included in Fernando’s tour price.

Historic Fort Téremba Penitentiary, plus lunch at the famous Banu hat hotel La Foa

You will be impressed by this historic vestige of French deportation and of the living conditions of convicts. In Fort Téremba, these buildings restored to as they used to be will transport you to another era, that of life in this penitentiary. Noumea and surrounds

This a private tour conducted by Fernando Tourisme to explore Noumea and its lush surrounds. You will see a great deal of the Noumea countryside in a full day. Visitors rarely get to explore outside the Noumea city area, but Fernando Tourisme will show you some inspiring rain forest scenery, secluded beaches, quaint Melanesian churches and much more.

FTE02 South Province (south of Noumea)

Duration: Full day

This a private tour conducted by Fernando Tourisme to explore the wonders of the South Province, with its rolling mountains, red mineral-rich soils, spectacular parks and waterfalls and the ruins of the historic settlement of Prony. This was where France sent the most notorious of its convincts to work the timber and mining industries, and the area also has historic links to Australia’s Broken Hill mines, which processed ore from this region over several decades in the mid-1900s.

North of Noumea exclusive and private tour for longer term visitors

Duration: Full day

This a private tour conducted by Fernando Tourisme to explore the wonders of the rugged and beautiful scenery stretching north from Noumea, past Tontouta International airport to the town of Bourail with its museum containing the last guillotine used in New Caledonia. Most of the attractions are accessed by good sealed roads so a lot of territory can be covered in a day. The area is rich in natural beauty, stunning rock formations and tributes to New Caledonia’s role in the Pacific campaign in World War II.

This a private tour conducted by Fernando Tourisme to explore the wonders of the North Province, as far as Hienghene, known as the Cradle of the Kanak soul. Coral forests and black-stone cliffs in the middle of the lagoon, impressive waterfalls and lush vegetation are the region’s main features, along with Kanak villages that can be visited. Along the drive north are little villages, thatched roof hotels on secluded beaches and a more casual way of life than in Noumea. Itineraries are worked out in advance, to suit your requirements.
Two days is a minimum tour, but more can be negotiated with Fernando Tourisme.
