THE TOUR:

Code:
FT05

This is a taste of Noumea combined with a once-in-a-lifetime swim with the turtles at Turtle Island (real name is Signal Island), in a magical coral fringed lagoon in a protected part of the second biggest coral reef in the world.  Fernando Tours takes you on a one-hour highlight tour of Noumea including the markets (not open Mondays), the beaches of Lemon Bay and Anse Vata, the cannon, before dropping you at the embarkation point for the high speed taxi boat to Turtle Island just 30 minutes away. You spend almost three hours snorkelling, swimming with the turtles or exploring the largest coral cay on the New Caledonia south lagoon, before returning to the mainland. You will be back at your cruise ship terminal at 2.30pm. This combined tour is with Fernando Tourisme and Dal Ocean Charter.

If you need lunch, a stop is made at the Johnston Supermarket, opposite the City Terminal, where a wide range of prepared food can be purchased. This stop is made just before you are taken to the taxi boat.

VISIT TO NOUMEA IS
CANCELLED FOR ANY REASON
If you can't disembark in Noumea through no fault of yours, no charge will be made against your credit card and your card information will be destroyed.
WHAT IF IT RAINS

Being a sub-tropical island (on the Tropic of Capricorn), rainy days and overcase skies can happen. However, Fernando's tours don't let a little water spoil a day out. Each tour carries umbrellas and there's plenty to see and do, even in the rain.

WHAT IF I HAVE FOOD ALLERGIES
OR DIETARY ISSUES
No food is served on this tour but if you need to buy lunch or other drinks, a stop is made at the supermarket opposite the City Terminal, just before you are taken to the taxi boat.
ARE TOILET
FACILITIES READILY AVAILABLE

Yes. Fernando Tourisme know where all the facilities are located. On Turtle Island, there is a bush toilet only.

WHERE CAN I
CHANGE MY CURRENCY BEFORE
THE TOUR
Just across the road from the City Terminal, where all cruise passengers are taken, regardless of which wharf your ship uses, there are ATM facilities at Johnston Supermarket. Note that banks in Noumea don’t change money, but there are currency exchange booths that do, and local currency is readily and easily available through ATMs.
AFTER I CONFIRM MY BOOKING, WHAT
HAPPENS NEXT

A booking is deemed to be confirmed by the visitor only when credit card details are provided on the tour booking form.  Once received, Fernando Tourisme will send you an email acknowledging the receipt of the booking and confirming that you will be on the tour. Should weather or any other unforeseen circumstance occur prior to the tour, an email will be sent to you with further information.

ARE THE TOUR PRICES
AT THE TIME OF MY
BOOKING CONFIRMED

Yes.  Fernando Tourisme will always honour the prices agreed to at the time of booking, regardless of any price changes that might occur any time after the booking is made.

IS THERE A LIMITED NUMBER OF PEOPLE ON THESE TOURS

For this tour, a minimum of four (4) persons is required. The capacity of the taxi boat is 10 persons.

IS THERE ANYTHING
ELSE I NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THIS TOUR
Just wear comfortable clothing and shoes. This is a sub-tropical country so a sun screen is recommended for those who may be affected by the sun. If you plan to swim, bring your bathers and a towel and your own mask and  snorkel. Reef shoes are always a good idea in reef zones. To see the turtles and enjoy the experience, you must be an experienced snorkeller, and be comfortable in the water. You also need to know your own limitations and how long you can swim on the reef. Even if you don't swim, there is still plenty to see, including the coloured coral and small fishes.
