PLEASE NOTE: All tours booked by cruise ship passengers with Fernando Tourisme will begin from a special meeting place just a short walk from the main cruise ship terminal.
Just follow the map below and look for Fernando and his big glasses in Les Petits Choux patisserie, just around the corner from the terminal.
There are two terminals
The larger cruise ships berth at the Cargo Terminal, while the smaller ships berth at the City Terminal.
Cargo Terminal
If your cruise ship ties up at the Cargo Terminal, take the free shuttle bus to the City Terminal – about five minutes away. From here, just follow the map above to meet up with Fernando at the Patisserie
City Terminal
Head towards the car park at the terminal and just follow the map above to meet up with Fernando at the Patisserie
Tips about Timings
With sometimes thousands of passengers wanting to go ashore, catching shuttle buses from the Cargo Terminal can take some time.
Fernando Tourisme’s advice is to purchase shuttle bus tickets as soon as you can, and try to be among the first wave of passengers to leave the ship and join the shuttle bus.
With large numbers of people disembarking, it is important to try to be on time for tours. In addition, ships don’t always arrive at the same time.
This will sometimes cause delays in tour departures.
Local currency
If you need to buy local currency, there is an exchange desk inside the City Terminal building, but if the queue is heavy, don’t worry….just head straight for Fernando, and he knows where all the ATMs are. The easiest way to get local currency in Noumea is at any bank ATM, using your own credit or debit card.
